Charles W. Hackett Papers 1911-1985 (bulk 1911-1950)

Correspondence, lecture notes, written works, manuscripts, photographs, and collected materials, including pamphlets, books and newspaper clippings, comprise the collection of Charles Wilson Hackett. From 1918-1951, Hackett was a professor in the University of Texas Department of History, one of the founders of the García Library (now the Benson Latin American Collection) and first director and founding member of the Institute of Latin American Studies.

Charles Wilson Hackett was born June 19th, 1888 to James Franklin Hackett and Matilda "Mittie" Greer Hackett of Chilton Texas.
